Villaroman Golf Academy and De La Salle Zobel Knock Out Series Leader Ateneo de Manila and Homeschool Global

The PLAY Golf Premier Interschool Match Play is where seasoned players come together for competition. All four teams—Ateneo de Manila, De La Salle Zobel, Homeschool Global, and Villaroman Golf Academy—fielded their top eight players for the semi-final knockout matches, which were held at the Royal Northwoods Golf and Country Club in San Rafael, Bulacan.

It was a tight contest between Villaroman Golf Academy and Ateneo de Manila, ending with a score of 2.5 to 1.5 in favor of Villaroman Golf Academy (VGA). The Aggregate pairing of Raj Crisostomo and Race Manhit secured the only victory for Ateneo against Zach Villaroman and seven-year-old Franco Estrella, winning their match 5&4. Best friends Javie Bautista and Juanton Cruz finished all square against Patrick Tambalque and Levonne Talion. Meanwhile, the Best Ball duo of Charles Serdenia and Santi Asuncion defeated Aenzo Sulaik and Xandrei David 4&3. A notable matchup was the High-Low tandem of Santino Pineda and Celine Abalos, who faced Lujo Gomez and ten-year-old Luis Espinosa, ultimately losing their match 6&5.

In the other semifinal, De La Salle Zobel emerged victorious over Homeschool Global with a score of 3 to 1. The highlight of their victory was the High-Low tandem of TJ Padilla and Gab Handog, who secured a decisive win against siblings Marco and Monica Angheng with a score of 10&8. In the girls’ team match, CC Gonzales and Georgina Handog defeated teenage boys Chan Ahn and Bacolod-based Inno Flores 2&1 in the Alternate format. Additionally, Rafa Leonio and Santino Magtalas claimed a win by overcoming junior girls Kami Del Mundo and Keira Que 3&2 in the Best Ball format. The only loss for De La Salle Zobel occurred in the Aggregate format, where Rafa Anciano and Rafael Manaol triumphed over Jacob Gomez and Dia Juane with a score of 2&1.
