Eleven-year-old Ryuji Suzuki, ranked as the top Filipino junior golfer, recently competed in the Asian Junior Masters at Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand. Suzuki finished with an impressive total score of 5 under par after 54 holes, securing 2nd place in the boys’ 11 and under category. Following Suzuki was fellow Filipino competitor Luis Espinosa, who finished with a score of 2 under par after the same number of holes.
The Boys Youth Team, which included Ryuji Suzuki, Luis Espinosa, Jared Saban, and Chan Ahn, achieved the same impressive result as last year’s Boys Youth team, also earning the 2nd runner-up trophy, a feat Suzuki was part of previously.
In the girls’ division, Reese Ng finished 5th in the Class A Girls Division, completing the tournament with a score of 8 over par over the three days.
The Philippine delegation was led by Play Golf chairman Mr. Gerry Handog.
